The Aircraft Designations of Sergei Aleksandrovich Kocherigin

SA Kocherigin (sometimes transliterated as 'Sergey Kochyerigin' and often misspelled as Kochergin) was a prolific designer - first for the Central Design Bureau (TsKB) in Moscow, then for his own Design Bureau, OKB z-da 1 (at Moscow/Khodynka).

According to Alexandre Savine, Kocherigin and "his team produced up to 20 projects, one- and two-engined, fighters, attackers and light bombers" between 1938 and 1942 when the design bureau was disbanded. http://www.ctrl-c.liu.se/misc/ram/kocherigin.html

Here is a listing of some Kocherigin designs beginning with TsKB concepts. Some of the direct attributions to Kocherigin are dodgy - the LSh(-1) and TSh-2 are attributed in whole or part to Dmitry Pavlovich Grigorovich., the ShoN to TsKB and/or DP Grigorovich, the LR to Z.I. Itskovich, and the DI-5/DI-6 to Vladmir Yatsenko.

In the 1938-1942 period, I can only find 13 designs including sub-types - Sh-1, Sh-2, MMSh, BMSh M-90, BMSh M-88, OBSh M-81, OBSh M-82, OPB M-89, OPB M-90, OPB AM-37, IT M-90 (or IT-2 M-90), IT AM-37 (or IT-2 AM-37), and DIS.

In other words, there's plenty more undiscovered Kocherigin projects out there folks ;)
