This could well end up being one of the worst corporate decisions this century...
 
It's not really a sale--its a spinoff with a venture capital infusion, masqueradingnas a sale. The new company gets the whole iRobot D&S management team and a pile of cash. Meanwhile iRobot gets easier access to the Chinese civilian market for its cleaning robots because it doesn't have to worry as much about tech transfer from the defense side.
