Northrop Grumman on 12 October unveiled its Hellhound truck, meant to fulfill the US Army's potential light reconnaissance vehicle programme, at the Association of the US Army's annual conference in Washington, DC.
The 5,897 kg (6.5-ton) Hellhound can carry six (including the driver) and is able to generate 100 kVA of exportable power, which is particularly high for a vehicle of its size, with a 120 kW Jenoptik integrated starter generator.
The prototype mounts a 30 mm ATK M230LF cannon on a EOS Technologies R-400 remote weapon station, which can be internally stored, and it can be carried inside a Boeing CH-47 Chinook cargo helicopter.
sublight is back said:I guess I don't understand military procurement. If Oshkosh just won the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle program, who is supposed to buy the Hellhound?

Airborne forces, which can't use JLTV because it's too heavy.
