Not sure what this is exactly, but reminded me of this thread. Probably Russian?

Hi!

This isn't a boat - this is swimming armored car!

Soviet BAD-2 of 1932, with an abilities ranged from swimming in river to use railways for motion.
Only one prototype build.

Learnt something new today. Thanks, Silencer.
A picture of the whole beast is at http://ww2photo.se/tanks/su/amphibious/bad-2/bad-2.htm

BAD stood for Brone Avto Drezine or Draisine Armoured Car, meaning that its primary role was to act as a rail vehicle. There were two twin-turreted BAD designs - the BAD/BAD-1 and BAD-2. These were followed by the single-turreted Plavajushi Broneavtomobil or floating armored car models, PB-4 and PB-7.

The initial BAD design wasn't amphibious, that appeared with the BAD-2. The BAD-2 was sometimes referred to as the BAD-2 ZhD when operating on rails.

BAD/BAD-1 (AMO F-15 or Ford AA chassis) pg 163, BAD-2 (Ford Timken chassis) pp 163-166, PB-4 (Ford Timken or GAZ AAA chassis) pp 166-174, PB-7 (GAZ AAA chassis) pp 174-176.

How did they transition to rail operations? Removing the tires or a separate set of running wheels? Thanks.

From the link given by Apophenia :
"...The BAD-2 could also be modified for use as a rail
scout. The standard wheels and tires could be replaced
with steel flanged rail wheels and when modified the
vehicle was referred to as the BAD-2 ZhD. ... "

Thanks. So, it'd take a bit of time clearly to switch transition.
