... The Renard R.31 (this one actually existed as a prototype but with an inline engine)...

The tenth production R-31 actually did fly with a Gnome-Rhône 14Krsd in 1935 but was redesignated Renard R-32. That aircraft (which had other difference from the R-31 such as extended canopy glazing, a larger, curved tailfin, and spats) was then re-engined with a an Hispano-Suiza 12Y. Apparently, the sole R-32 then reverted to standard R-31 configuration powered by a Rolls-Royce Kestrel II.S.

For members who wants to see more about aircraft
constructed in Belgium , the Fonds André Renard site is a
good start.
choose:avions construits en Belgique.

Enjoy.

lark Could you please put the link ? I can't found it.

Thanks for the link Arjen. Interesting cowling on that R-32 mockup. The 12H Pétrel-powered R-31 was also new to me.

The information ,related to the Renard R-39 is very incomplete...

In one source, 'Les Avions Renard' by André Hauet - publ. 1984
it is described as a twinfuselage development of the R-36.
A study which was not continued.

In an other one, 'Les Avions Renard 1922-1970' by A.Hauet & Guy Roberty-publ. 1996
it should be a twin engined trainer aircraft corresponding to a 1938 request from
the Belgian Military Aviation.

Mention of this trainer concept was made in Interavia Courrier Rubrique de 6.8.1938.

This topic was made up from posts of the older generic "Early Belgian Aircraft" thread.
Some posts were even cut, but I promise, that no one lost a post.

This photo of the R.31 model was originall posted by Skyblazer on March 07, 2013
in the "Early Belgian Aircraft" thread

the Renard R.100 was a two-seat recce Project,led to develop R.31

Thanks hesham. In Les avions SABCA et associés, prototypes et projets by Charles Mali, 2005, the study leading up to the R.31 is listed simply as the "Renard 100" - no 'R' prefix. I assume this "100" to be from an Étude designation series separate from Renard's 'R' series.

You are right my dear Apophenia,

maybe we can called it Model-100.
