Hi,


here is the Brazilian Marc Niess series of aircraft and projects,the 1-80
was side-by-side two seat high-wing monoplane,powered by one 80 hp engine,the 2-100 was three seat variant of (1-80) powered by one 100 hp engine,the 3-150 was all-metal four seat with swept forward wings and
powered by one 150 hp engine.


The designs 4,5 & 6 are not known,the 7-250 Fragata was tandem two-
seat trainer aircraft project,the later was the last creation for CBA
(Companhia Brasileira de Aeronáutica).

The Niess 4-200 was a high-wing 4seat touring project.
The Niess 5-250 was a high-wing 4seat touring project.
The Niess 6-250 "Cadillac Voador" was a training aircraft, forrunner of Niess 7-250 "Fragata".
 
The Niess series run up to the 22-65 with many unnumbered aircraft.

I think that only the 2-100 was actually built with reports that 2 examples were constructed (PT-GLI and PT-ZPE)

2-seat sport
one 100hp Lycoming 0-235 piston engine
max. speed 115 mph, cruise 105 mph, ceiling 16,000ft
wingspan 31.625ft; length 21.458ft
DETAILS: The Model 2-100 design of Mr. Marc William Niess was more or less a tricycle u/c version of the Maranhao, but also differed in other aspects, including the installation of one more powerful 100hp Lycoming O-235 engine and the use of slightly forward swept wings. The first of 2 prototype aircraft made the first flight in 1952. Further development was halted.

The I-80 was only built in prototype form. It was initially known as I-80, but later received modifications as I-80A and a more engine (85hp Continental C85 instead of the original A80). Production was carried out by Fábrica do Galeão as the Model 5-FG Maranhão and reportedly some 68 were built. The production model differed from the I-80 prototype in having a mix of fabric and pywood covering, rather than the fabric covering on the I-80/I-80A and larger fuel tanks. The C85 engine was retained for the production model.
Two aircraft were modified as Model 5-FGA and in order to reduce the empty weight, the plywood panels were replaced by fabric. One 5-FGA was thus modified by the Sao Paulo Aeroclub and the other by Campinas Aeroclub.

2-seat sport/trainer
one 85hp Continental C85-8 piston engine
max. speed 110 mph, cruise 85 mph, icr 690ft/minute, ceiling 12,500ft, range 380 miles
wingspan 34.5ft; length 22ft; height 6.5ft
DETAILS: The I-80 was based on the CAP-4 Paulista, but it differed in having a wider cabin, a modernised construction and one more powerful engine. The type was developed by Mr. Marc William Niess.
Model I-80: The prototype aircraft which had one 80hp Continental A80 and which was first flown in June 1950.
Model I-80A: The same aircraft, after having received some modifications and one 85hp Continental C85-8 engine.

Niess 9-80,11-180 & 12-300,also a gyrocopter,maybe it was a
10-?,finally the 14-I Caure I.
