FIREBALL XL-5

I used to be a regular visitor to Tony James at Comet Miniatures.
A chap from Chesterfield called Tony Barnes used to make Anderson models.
Your XL5 looks like an original studio quality model. Wd be worth a fortune now

If you want your countrymen to be fired up about space then show their young boys, like me, Fireball XL-5.

I still have one of those god-awful Comet XL-5 kits in the rafters somewhere. I know of Martin Bower, and Sessions (spelling?). I so wish I could have had a sit-down with Reg Hill and his associates -- what talent!

Your very kind. I built if for one of the senior Editors over at the old Starlog magazine offices back in the day. The XL-5 display piece eventually found itself in the hands of -- who would become my principle employer in the American movie-making industry -- Greg Jein, one of the finest effects miniatures makers ever (and one hell of a nice guy)!
