just wondering if any forum member knows any details regarding a Boeing conceptual VTOL lifting platform/composite aircraft arrangement from approximately 1958 known as "Flying Carpet / Magic Carpet". (Not to be confiused with the recent Super Hornet guidance system). Whilst the concept is mentioned in a few books in regards to submarine launched aircraft there is very little detail of the proposed lifting platform itself. I believe Shorts proposed a land based concept - the P.D.17 during the same period, for the English Electric P.17A, and the later Shorts P.D.34 platform. Any knowledge or references would be greatly appreciated.
