First of all, I think the feed cover confirms it as an AGS-17, but with a new barrel or shroud. Secondly, it's undoubtedly fitted to an MG151 (GA1) mount in an Alouette III helicopter (Zimbabwe?).

you're right.

I had forgotten the MG151.
I think the GA1 mount is a copy of the french GAHN AME mount.

About the mount, I agree. I have seen the same mount on Portuguese and Malaysian Alouettes, as well as SAAF and RhAF examples.

Some details of some of the servo controlled mounts.

Info from Helmoed Romer Heitmanns SA Arms & Armour from the mid 1980's.

Kaiserbill

the GAHN AME mount was a good design.
the brakes and recuperators are not hydraulics, they have a long life, 100000 rounds. The mount works like a "soft recoil system" or a fire out of battery system.
ON the GA 1 mount there are 2 brakes and 2 recuperators like on the GAHN AME.
why change something which work?

Just to add to the collection, a couple more instances of the MG151 on the AME mount. Both with Argentina, first on an S-58T and the second an Armada S-61.

Are you sure the gun in the S-61 pic is a Mauser and not the alternative 20 mm Mk.4 Mod 1? The barrel looks more like the latter, as far as I can see.

Kinda late here (well, 5 years late) but i found an this
idk if it is a real mauser one but was mounted like that in an argentine Navy Allouette III
