I said what if, because I have never seen a picture or drawing of the R2Y with swept wings like the model pics that Pacopepe-san posted. Was there a proposal to sweep the wings of the R2Y?

Blackkite, what publication does the last image you posted come from? Kayaba was designing aircraft for the Army, so it's a bit odd to see the Katsuodori underneath a Navy plane. Neverminding that it's all speculation, of course!
