I'd be interested in finding details on a high-speed long range plane from the 1930's. I'm not sure of the manufacturer, but it set the record for a Tokyo - London Flight in 1937.

It's name gave the title to one of the more enjoyable piano concertos of the same period, Hisato Ohzawa's Piano Concerto Nº. 3 "Kamikaze"....

The cd cover below has a photograph of the plane:

It's Kamikaze-go.(神風号)
Asahi news paper company asked the IJA to use Mitsubishi Ki-15, 97-shiki world's first strategic reconnaissance aircraft N0.2 as Tokyo London friendship flight plane. Kamikaze-go took off Tokyo Tachikawa air port, landed London in 19th of April 1937.
Flight time was 94hour 17 minutes 56 seconds.(including gas charge time, etc)

Thanks to everyone who responded, that clears it up. I've found a copy of the concerto online at youtube, if anyone is interested just PM me and I'll link it to the thread.

New topic split from the old "Japanese Projects before 1945" thread...
