My first thought was : Beriev Be-103, but neither the wing planform, nor
the tail are correct. But with the link, I only get the picture and under
4.bp.blogspot.com, I couldn't find the blog, which may give an answer .. ???

I know this should probably go in the "Scale Modelling, CGI and Profiles" area but it is fairly similar to the original design. <The Manta by AVPRO UK, mine was primarily based on the picture on the left in the middle.>

I very strongly doubt this was intended as a WIG aircraft. The mounting of weapons on the lower wing is all the evidence you need, although there are a number of other indications.

It appears to me to be a WIG Type C similar to the Be-103 which is both a WIG and a Amphibious Aircraft.

See http://www.beriev-usa.com/main/overview.html

The low-set wing (in relation to hull) provides for wing-in-ground effect during take-off and landing. Thanks to this feature the aircraft does not need flaps and can skim on the wing trailing edges.

Great, there goes ANOTHER one of my great concepts to someone else! I swear it's telepathy :)

Actually I'm glad to see someone ELSE thought of using the Burnellie "Wing-fuselage" in a WIG configuration.

Ever thought that the definition of what is and what isn't a WIG aircraft was not quite clear?
Well, here's some valuable information written by K. V. Rozhdentsvesky for Progress in Aerospace Sciences #42. It's only one page but it sheds some solid light on the various types of WIG that have existed (attachment in next post).

Why is there so few large transport WIG projects? Is there really no market for the aircraft like Boeing Pelican and Beriev Be 2500? Too expensive to transport cargo compared to ships?

This topic is becoming pretty long.

I'm locking it temporarily to split it into two or three separate ones.

This topic is now reopened but will be only for uncategorized or unidentified projects.

I have created separate topics as follows:

Please make sure to post in the proper topic to avoid clogging this one or duplicating material!
