Utva C-3 Trojka (Trey) - 2 seat trainer, first flown 1946, built during early 1950s by Ikarus as the Ikarus 251 Trojka (though I have seen it described as UTVA 251 too).

My dear Hood,

I think it was P-251,because this company used anther series,such as P-418.

Hesham in your first post, you asked for more data in regards to the UTVA NI-17 & NI-18 designs. I attach the entry for both from Janes ATWA for 1963-64.

There was an interesting discussion on Utva designations on the Air-Britain Information Exchange (AB-IX) a couple of months ago.

One member had visited a museum in Belgrade where a chart of Utva types was listed with У-65, У-66, У-75 etc. in Serbian script, which for when translated would be U-65, U-66 etc.
Jane's has used this format itself in the past.

Another ambiguous point is whether the company name is UTVA or Utva, and indeed even the company itself seems to use both version. Utva is Serbian for Shelduck so should rightly be Utva in lowercase as it is not an abbreviation.
Western listings of the the company name vary between UTVA Fabrika Aviona and Fabrika Aviona Utva.

A translation of some of the Utva type names of its older products was provided:
Чавка = Chavka = Jackdaw
Шева = Sheva = Lark
Орлик = Orlik = Eagle
Врабац = Vrabats = Sparrow
Комар = Komar = Mosquito
Саламандра = Salamandar = Salamander
Утва = Utva = Shelduck
Мева = Meva = Gull
Цегинг = Tsegling = Zögling
Врона = Vrona = Crow
Ждрал = Zhdral = Crane
Соко = Soko = Falcon
Jастреб = Jastreb = Goshawk
Ласта = Lasta = Swallow
Ваjа = Vaja = Exercise
кобац = Kobats = Sparrowhawk
