Hi,

the Bell D228 JANAIR was Joint Army Navy Aircraft Instrumentation Research;

Please note that,may be D228 means Bell D-228,also the reference 299
may be means the Model-299 as in my dear Orionblamblam documents.

I think the first photo is a standard Augusta built Bell 212 with a surface search radar, not related to the RH-2 program.
