Hi,

The Airspeed AS.9 was a single seat fighter project, powered by one
650 hp Napier Dagger II engine, but I have no drawing to it,do you
know for which specification it was designed ?.

According to 'Airspeed Aircraft Since 1931' it was a private initiative on the part of Airspeed and their first attempt to break into the military aircraft business.

Cheers, Jon

It would be interesting to see if it had evolved along the lines of other Dagger-powered designs (the early MB designs come to mind).

Thank you my friends,

Can I ask you (joncarrfarrelly) about anther early fighter project to this company,
I heard that it was between AS.12 to AS.28,but I don't know it was existed or not.

Next Airspeed fighter project after the AS.9 was the AS.31
twinboom project with the cockpit in the tailplane I think.

17-18-19-21-22 were Fokker designs.

Maybe this beast was submitted to Spec. 40/34 ?.

Doubtful as that was for a two-seat Hawker Demon replacement. I would guess that the AS.9 is in the same category as the Martin Baker MB2, a private venture design based loosely on F.5/34
