Boeing FASTR and other tilt-fold designs

Hi,

Tucked away in Boeing's rotorcraft presentation at Paris was a small image of something called FASTR - Folding Advanced Stopped Tilt Rotor - a study by Bell Boeing for DARPA and the US Navy.

I know that thre have been some studies involving designing a tilt-rotor with a prop that 'folds" back into the Nacalle to allow for faster speeds as a pure jet design. How close has anyone ever gotten to a flight test of that, and were their any seroius plans to use it?
