Kawanishi H11K1-L "Soku" Transport Flying Boat

The H11K Soku is a much bigger aircraft than the H8K Emily,it must certainly have two decks because it must carry a lot of soldiers.
I believe it never gets of the drawing Bord,if this type was build it was a good tool to sustain the garrisons abroad

Nice drawing and photo of the Soku you have send Blackkite,It most become enormous!
The Japanese could have used after a little conversion work, this aircraft as a cheap alternative for the Fugaku.

All I now about this big Sea plane is the project died when the muck up was lost in a air raid.

Kawanishi H11K1-L "Soku", just see "Japanese Projects before 1945", post 134 (page 9)
And we had it somewhere else, probably even in this thread, but
it took me quite a while to locate just this one post.
This thread really has become hard to handle due to its large number
of different types and very general topic. I think, I'll start splitting off
related posts, at the beginning at least the part about the Fugaku.
Any objections or demands ?

I have this general arrangement, from "Aeroplane Monthly", so I imagine many of you will know of it.

Thank you. I just discovered this site a few weeks ago. Not only does it have great images but the writeup on the various aircraft is very thorough.

A nice picture of the H11K1-L as it would have looked like when in flight:

Is there any info what would be the original armament of this plane if series production started and not as transports?
Same or Similar like the H8K Emily?

For as large as the Soku was, defensive armament was light (three 13mm Type 2 machine guns) and I doubt it would have changed had it gone into production. Asides, the Soku was clearly designed from the outset as a transport and not in the role of the H8K.

At the time I found the color profile of the H11K on that site I did not yet have your book so I did not know who created it. I have your book now (and I have read it a couple of times). The site where I first saw the profile is gone.
