New Chinese sub-hunter - Y-8ASW version unveiled !??

Not 100% sure but with a MAD-boom, a weapons-bay and a large serach radar ... I would say that's the long rumoured Y-8GX-6 ASW.

And what looks like a weapons bay. There seems to be more than one thus configured aircraft there. Something odd about the third photo with the aircraft nearest the camera, the boom/radome thing does not look right.

IMO itt has no boom ... more a radome as the Y-8W / KJ-200 has but without the dorsal radar-array.

Like I say, the whole thing does not look right, and it does not seem to match any other variant if you look closely.

Maybe the GX-8 ?? ... but this one has a rear-side array  http://cnair.top81.cn/surveillance/GX-8a.jpg
Edit: Couldn't be ... seems to have a rear-loading ramp (so could be Y-9) but why that strange rear-faing radome ?? :-\

There is something slightly CGI looking about the MAD boom and weapons bay door that makes me a bit suspicious.

I had a similar bad feeling but if You look at the original large photos I think they were shot right out of a driving car ...

If they are CGI then they are amongst the best I have seen. It is the radome a the rear of the front aircraft in the third picture that is concerning me- it just does not seem to fit onto that aircraft- it almost seems like its immediately behind the fuselage rather than coming out of the rear of the aircraft.

The entire aft fuselage of the front plane in the third photo looks different.  It look more than that on a c-130 with a rear cargo door.   The asw version seems to have a faired in rear.
