India Indigenous Aircraft Carrier

Appear to be two different designs. The second is larger than the first.
 
That's the trouble with the Indian Navy as they tend to play their cards close to their chest with new ship projects till they enter service. Lots of news about them but images and details tend to be rather shy in the those articles. If you ever look in Janes Fighting Ships, you will see what i mean as the new projects are sparce on detail and drawings are generally basic if they appear at all.

The first model is probably based on the earlier sketches that have been floating around, where as i think the lower model is the one presented to the Navy at the keel laying ceremony and represents the actual layout of the ship being built. Interesting design but you can see why they are looking at a larger CVF sized vessel for the next ship as the IAC appears designed for the Mig & NLCA sized aircraft only.

India also has a 65,000-tonne IAC-II on the drawing board but the delay in IAC-I has derailed it. The 260-metre-long IAC-I is supposed to carry 12 MiG-29Ks, eight Tejas Light Combat Aircraft and 10 anti-submarine and reconnaissance helicopters on its 2.5-acre flight deck and hangars.

With a crew of 160 officers and 1,400 sailors, IAC will have an endurance of around 7,500 nautical miles at 18 knots, powered by four American LM2500 gas turbines. It will be capable of a maximum speed of 28 knots.
